Obtaining approval letter and on arrival visa for Myanmar, Burma

Recently, Myanmar Government issues on arrival visa in an attempt to boost the tourism in the country. Although it is "on arrival" visa, you would still need to get the approval letter from Myanmar Government. To obtain this approval letter, you to submit an application with

- Full names
- Fathers names
- Nationality
- Religion
- Profession
- Current address of your employment (if you are retired, address of your last employment is needed)
- Your address in full
- Date of birth
- Password Number
- Date of issue
- Validity
- Arrival and Departure day/time
- 1 Passport Picture

These application need to be made to the Immigration Office in Nay Pyi Daw (new capital of Myanmar).

On arrival visa is USD $20.

Tips

You should submit the application 3 or 4 weeks before your planned entry date to the country as it could take up to 3 weeks to obtain the approval letter.
